Dit boek was mijn debuut bij uitgeverij De Eenhoorn. Het is op het allersimpelste leesniveau geschreven, dus: alleen éénlettergrepige woorden, met hooguit twee medeklinkers aan het begin of het eind. Geschikt voor kinderen die nét leren lezen, kinderen die moeite hebben met lezen of kinderen die van een heel vrolijk hondje en een niet minder vrolijk jong katje houden.
In 2018 werd een nieuwe versie uitgegeven, met andere tekeningen (van Floor de Goede).
